CHRISTMAS AT ST MARY’S 2003
Christmas at St. Mary's was marvellous and full of good things There is always an a la carte menu of services at Christmas, and this year was no exception.
The Arrival at Bethlehem this year had the guest appearance of a pony called Twiglet who came clattering down the aisle to the
wide-eyed astonishment of young and old alike. There were about 350 in church for the service, which included the Blessing
of the Crib.
Midnight Mass, too, had a very large congregation with light and colour, choral music and carols, incense and tinsel, all combining to make Christmas night something wonderful.
And still it went on, with people coming to Holy Communion the following morning, or to the simple 'Eucharist at the Crib' or to the reliability of Christmas Mattins and sermon.
A splendid Christmas brought about by a lot of hard work by many people.
