CHRISTMAS AT ST MARYdown the aisle to the wide-eyed astonishment of young and old alike. There were about 350 in church for the service, which included the Blessing of the Crib.

Midnight Mass procession Midnight Mass Midnight Mass, too, had a very large congregation with light and colour, choral music and carols, incense and tinsel, all combining to make Christmas night something wonderful.

And still it went on, with people coming to Holy Communion the following morning, or to the simple 'Eucharist at the Crib' or to the reliability of Christmas Mattins and sermon.

A splendid Christmas brought about by a lot of hard work by many people.
