Summer Fair

« Back to past notices

A Summer Fair Meeting was held on 24th March, when we chose the winning design for the programme cover. The children from Ewell Castle Junior School produced some excellent designs. The winner was Elena Harris and the runners-up, Joseph Williamson and Leanne West. They were presented with their prizes by the Mayor, who attended their Springtime Celebration Service on 31st March at St Mary's. Well done to all those who took part.

We still need offers of help on the day of the Fair. Help running the Fancy Goods and Toiletries Stall is urgently needed. Please contact Rosemarie Henson on 020 8224 2713 if you can help. Also we need helpers on the Side Shows to give people a break during the day. Please contact Jeff Cousins if you can help.

The St Mary's Morris Men are back this year on their Annual Day of Dance and are including a "Grinning Thro' The Horse Collar" competition which is open to all those who would like to participate on the day!

We have "New Attractions" this year. They are inflatables - a large slide, a 'bucking bronco' and gladiator podiums.

Men's Sponsored Cake Bake is being organised by Joan Boulden again and she is looking for gentlemen's entries. If you are willing to have a go, please let Joan know. This event is becoming one of the highlights of the Fair.

Nearly New Boutique - Donations for this stall are very welcome, but only clothes that are in 'mint' condition please on hangers if possible. Contact Jane Boyce on 020 8715 903 1.

Bric-a-Brac - John and Sarah Stovell are looking for new stock, preferably small items. Sorry, regulations stipulate no second-hand electrical goods.

Grand Draw - Tickets will be available at the back of the church at the end of May. Counterfoils and cash may be handed to Gill or Nigel Bird or placed in the box, please. We aim to have lots of tempting prizes to be won at the Fair on 19th July. If you would like to donate a prize please contact Gill on 01372 277436 or cash donations towards the purchase of prizes are always welcome.

Don't forget the Plant Sale - 17th MAY - Contact Evelyn Jarrett of you would like to make any plant donations.
